China’s future education must change accordingly

On the same day, the China Development Research Foundation, Beijing Normal University, Tencent, Global Silicon Valley Investment Corporation, New Oriental, Good Future, etc. held the 2019 Future Education Conference in Beijing with the theme of Learning without End for Education . At the meeting, Li Wei introduced that the average number of years of education of China s newly-increased labor force has reached more than 13.6 years. It has built the world s largest education system with 519,000 schools, 276 million students, and more than 16.7 million full-time teachers. Broader and fuller development has been achieved by receiving modern education.

At this time, the new economy represented by the Internet, cloud computing, big data, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, etc. is having a revolutionary impact on education itself. Li Wei emphasized that the society of the future is changing with each passing day, and the update of knowledge, information, and technology is greatly accelerated. School education and one-time education are not enough. Only continuous learning and lifelong learning, live to the old, learn the old, can we keep up The pace of society.

The purpose of training today s students is to enable them to adapt to society more than a decade later. At this meeting, Dong Qi, the president of Beijing Normal University, said that we should make full use of today s scientific and technological means to promote the development of education. The new generation of information technology represented by artificial intelligence, big data, 5G, etc. is affecting and changing the way of human life and learning, and affecting future education. However, there is still a lack of sober understanding of the characteristics, forms, functions of future education, and changes in teacher roles and teaching models. Interdisciplinary, cross-border, and transnational research is needed.

迈 Lu Mai, deputy director of China Development Research Foundation, believes that education should pay special attention to the bottom. Start with children s health and education, lay the foundation for their future development, and give each child a fair starting point. Without fair education, children in poverty-stricken areas will not be able to find jobs that match artificial intelligence technology when they grow up.

At this meeting, referring to American experience, he said that after class consolidation and slower social upward mobility, the intergenerational transmission of poverty will be exacerbated. College-educated parents usually raise their children carefully, but parents who do not have college education often choose natural stocking.
